Friedrichs Funeral HomeEdward W. Graham, age 86, passed away peacefully Saturday morning May 16 at the Midwest Palliative & Hospice CareCenter at Northwest Community Hospital. He was a 54 year resident of Mount Prospect, IL. Edward was born November 19, 1928 in Detroit, MI to the late Louis and Mildred nee White Graham. He was a graduate of William Howard Taft High School in Chicago, IL and attended Loyola University. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant in Korea from 1951-53 and was awarded the Bronze Star. Edward married Lou Anne Kascht on June 12, 1954 and they shared their lives together for 52 years until Lou Anne’s passing in 2006. He enjoyed a long and successful career in commercial property management, and retired as Senior Director Asset Management for Sarakreek USA. Prior to that he worked for L. J. Sheridan & Co. for more than 30 years. Edward was an active member of the community, and coached grade school basketball at St. Raymond School. He was an active member of St. Raymond Catholic Church for many years. He was a man of strong faith and his greatest joy was his family. He was also a member of the Mt. Prospect Senior Golf League, Friends of the Mt. Prospect Library, Life Member of VFW Post 1337 and the Des Plaines Elks Club.

He is survived by his children, John (Barbara) of West Dundee, IL and Anne of Alexandria, VA and his cherished grandchildren Kimberly, Scott and Heather Graham. He is also survived by his sisters, Phyllis (William) Sommers and Shirley (Robert) Hall, along with many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Assisted Living community at The Moorings of Arlington Heights, IL where Edward spent his last two and a half years. Their dedication and love helped him make the transition from his home to The Moorings, and gave him contentment and peace in his final years. .

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 21 at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 West Central Road in Mt. Prospect. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, May 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Golf Rd (Rt.58) at Meier Rd., Mt Prospect, IL 60056, with a one hour visitation prior to Mass at 9 a.m. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines IL with military honors.

In lieu of  flowers, masses are preferred
